On December 7th, the Second Annual FashInvest Capital Conference will be taking place at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City.
FashInvest http://www.facebook.com/FashInvest?sk=wall was formed by a group of venture capitalist, private equity managers and branded goods and fashion company executives in order to increase the knowledge base between the investment community and emerging and growth-oriented branded good and fashion entrepreneurs. All members work toward the goal of improving the positioning and pathway for branded goods and fashion entrepreneurs from raising necessary investment capital to the ultimate sale of their enterprise.
The FashInvest Capital Conference is the only place in the world where entrepreneurs within the world of fashion, fashion tech, retail and branded goods can showcase their business and investment opportunity to over 60 national and international capital sources. The conference will feature up to 20 selected entrepreneurs presenting their company opportunities in an 8-minute format to financiers and operating executives in the audience with the goal of fostering investment and strategic partnering opportunities. Along with these presentations, FashInvest Capital Conference will feature Keynote Speakers, networking opportunities and riveting panel discussions. One of the featured discussions is a panel called “What Direct-To-Consumer Digital Products and Experiences Really Should mean To Brands: Do They Have a Clue?” The panel will feature some of the early leading-edge initiatives within the Fashion and Branded Goods realms of direct-to-consumer digital experiences and how Brands need to expand their thinking to fully understand and embrace the opportunity. Panelist include Founder and Managing Director of FirstMark Capital, Lawrence Lenihan, Business partner of Nicola Formichetti of Q4, Mugler Creative Director and stylist to Lady Gaga, Mary Lee, and Chair of the Fox Rothschild Fashion Law Practice Group, Staci Riordan.
One of the Keynote Speakers is Founder and CEO of Gilt Groupe, Kevin P. Ryan. Ryan will answer questions on his company and how their model has evolved from pure flash sales to flash sales with full price, his thoughts on industry trends now and in the future, his vision and predictions into the future of e-tailing and traditional retailing and his overall insights on being a successful serial entrepreneur in the fashion industry. Ryan will also be honored and inducted as the Inaugural Member of the FashInvest Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
